I am married and my husband and I have a son who is 22months old. We are a mixed couple; I am black African and my husband is white American. When we met and before we got married, my husband told me he wanted kids and the number didn’t really matter. I wanted 2 or 3 children and certainly didn’t not want just the one child. Two-three years down the road, my husband changed his mind. Personally, it is very important to me and for our son that he has a sibling; extremely important. It is a major issue that has threatened my marriage. It is a deal breaker and many times I felt stuck in my situation because I strongly believe that our son needs both his parents. If it can be helped, the benefits of both healthy and responsible parents far out weigh any other option. Growing up, my parents were always present and involved in our lives and mother is still a significant part of my life. My father passed away 7 years ago and it still hurts everyday when I think of him.

Our son also needs a brother or sister that he can grow up with, enjoy life together as children and both of them can become great adults that can lean on each other. In recent times, my husband clarified that he was ok with me having another child and us living/staying together if I find a donor to have the child with. This is why I am here.

I am 42 years old this November and don’t want a huge age gap between my children. It is my hope to find healthy sperm from a white American donor and I am open to a discussion of co-parenting. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mum and I have a business that I also run from home. I intend to keep things this way for a while primarily because I am likely to home school the children and love the flexibility I get from owning my own business. I am available to answer any questions.
