how long can sperm survive out of the body?
i realy want a baby with someone that lives about 209 miles away. i would find it hard to get up there so i was wondering he could send the sperm in the post specil delivery? but how long does sperm survive out of the body? and is there anything else we could do?
This is a difficult one..
Outside the body sperm can last from a few minutes to a few hours, apparently.
The issue is keeping it cool. So could possibly put it in a tube and send it in a small plastic thermos packed with some ice. But post will still take almost 24 hours. So not sure if it's going to be successful. You could also consider a same-day courier, but expensive.
But saying all that clinics ship sperm all over the world, so must work.
Alternative would be to meet halfway or take turns to make the journey.
If you use TYB and a Bio-Tranzkit, itcan last 24 hours. That's how people ship it, using Federal Express or UPS overnight delivery.
