Astrology boost chances of having a baby?

"Apparently" astrology could help women have babies, so called "astro-fertility".

Hmm.....

It works on the assumption that there are only two or three times a year that a woman can become pregnant and successfully have a child. These dates are particular to the woman and her partner's place, date and time of their own births.

It is only when the position of the planets are replicated for those dates can a woman become pregnant.

Mandy and Mark Parry had already spent a considerable sum on courses of IVF treatments; all of which were unsuccessful. After consulting a fertility astrologer they tried another course of IVF treatment at the supposed best time - and were successful.

The couple now have a baby girl.

Obviously this could just be a very happy coincidence.

When Professor Robert Winston was asked about it his response was,

" There is not the slightest evidence that star signs make the slightest difference to fertility,’ says Prof Winston. ‘It’s shocking to me that anyone would make that claim based on anecdotal events. What worries me is that infertility is the cause of desperate sadness and couples will grasp any kind of straw such as this."

However, skepticism has not stopped more women consulting astrologers. Or one IVF clinic in the US challenging a leading fertility astrologer to provide dates for their own clients to prove that it does work.
