Royal Jelly

(For Women)
This is sometimes referred to as a super food because it is packed with nutrients such as amino acids, iron, calcium, lipids such as vitamins A & D and proteins.

It is important in boosting health generally before conception but also in fertility by helping to balance the female hormones. Studies have shown that Royal Jelly like Red Clover can mimic the hormone oestrogen and so is beneficial in treating conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

It is regarded as an ‘all rounder’ rather than having a specific purpose such as Vitex. Its value is in its high nutritional content and it is a nourishing food for the endochrine system and therefore helps hormonal balance.

It comes as a liquid and can be mixed into cold or warm drinks but its health properties are destroyed if mixed into hot drinks.

It is important to use Royal Jelly in pure form without any additives. It is also safe to combine Royal Jelly with other supplements and remedies and pure Royal Jelly can usually be taken during pregnancy but check with your midwife.

It should be avoided by anyone with bee allergies.

Reported side effects include skin irritations and anaphylactic shock.

It is always best to get advice from a Naturopathic doctor or a herbalist to find the right dosage and combination of herbal remedies to help with your fertility. This guide is provided for information purposes only.
