(For men and women)This is a turnip shaped root-like vegetable which is believed to increase fertility both men and women. Maca contains alkaloids which act to stimulate reproduction Alkaloids work on the hypothalamus-pituitary gland axis and is thought to increase libido.
One of the functions of the hypothalamus is to control the pituitary gland secretions which release hormones.
Maca like Royal Jelly is regarded as a superfood in that it nourishes different parts of the body in need of help as such it can help with low oestrogen or testosterone levels.
However, much of the research on Maca and fertility have been carried out on animals and so the effects on humans are inconclusive.
