Parent order these can be applied for under Section 30 of the Parental Orders (Human Fertilisation and Embryology Regulations)  - this is an order that a person(s) are to be treated as if the child was born to them. It is given to the parent who has not carried the child born by IVF or surrogacy. Parent orders give that person “parental responsibility” (see below).
Parental Responsibility these are the rights, duties, powers, responsibilities and authority which by law a parent has over a child and the child’s property.  
PGD this is known as Preimplantation Diagnosis and is a procedure whereby an individual cell is extracted from an embryo which has been fertilized in vitro and is then tested. It is offered to couples at risk of passing a genetic disease to their children such as cystic fibrosis and hemophilia. The embryo is tested for the genetic condition and is not used for implantation if the tests show signs of the condition. 
PGS this is known as Preimplantation Genetic Screening and is a technique used to examine the embryo to check if it has the wrong number of chromosomes.
Profasi this is a fertility drug given by injection which contains Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (which is obtained from the urine of pregnant women). The drug mimics the action of the pituitary hormone which controls the release of eggs from the ovary in women and testosterone in men.
Puregon this is a follicle stimulating hormone fertility drug in a synthetic form and unlike Metrodine does not rely on FSH.
